ChopperGunner92 Posted July 4, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2013 Does anyone know what this Warlock decal on the back of this helmet represents? It is 1978 dated and came from a Vet who was a pilot in an Air Cav unit. Also, does anyone know why the helmet was painted black? They are usually green when I have seen them. Also what unit does the crossed swords decal stand for? I will really appreciate any help. God Bless, Best Regards and Happy 4th of July!

mohawkALSE Posted July 4, 2013 Share #4 Posted July 4, 2013 Seems to be just a generic Air or Armored cavalry insignia, not sure on an exact one. The back decal looks similar to a TOW missile TSU retical so maybe it came from a AH-1 Cobra pilot or gunner.
Spathologist Posted July 5, 2013 Share #5 Posted July 5, 2013 The Cavalry insignua is from the 6th Cavalry Brigade, so it's post 1975. Doubtless the Warlocks were one of the subordinate units.
Steve B. Posted July 5, 2013 Share #6 Posted July 5, 2013 The Warlock emblem seems to me to be the nickname of the person that wore the helmet. If it was a unit nickname, I would think it would say Warlocks with an "s."
