Wow, that really doesn't make sense, to have a 'photo hole' board like that when the real thing is just a few feet away...

It is like having those cut-out boards at the beach or at amusement parks, just aother way for people to take photos. Also, they have a German guard posed in from of the tank (w/o head of course)....so unless one walks into the museum wearing a German uniform with rifle in hand, this is another route to take that photo.
I personally think it is pretty neat, you can take the serious route in the photo....or the Owen route!

But aren't you glad that they did have it so that we could have this priceless photo which has all kinds of future blackmail possibilities?

Wearing a German uniform and carrying a British No. 1 mk III Enfield, you mean!

Oh, there's no question of the value of that!

The anticipation for the release of FURY motivated me to revisit Harry Yeide's book Steel Victory: The Heroic Story of America's Independent Tank Battalions at War in Europe recently and subsequently my review here on the Forum. I would like to amend said review by changing the A- to an A+. My cranky comment that it the photos were too few and too small should not have negated the quality of his research and prose.
My apologies to Mr. Harry Yeide, and once again, I highly recommend his book to while away the hours until FURY hits the theaters.

I too find Yede's books well above average. Good quality military history.

They just put some final touches on the film in California. I had two friends participate in some night fighting scenes last month at the Disney Golden Oak ranch and they rented one converted OT-810. It seems that most films are shot in places other than California now, but the final assembly is done here.

Are there any stills of Jeeps in the film that show the bumper markings well? My local theater wants me to bring my GPW for the premiere and I thought it would be cool to remark mine like one from the movie.
