skautdog Posted June 18, 2013 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2013 For items (canvas or nylon, not leather) such as canteen covers, pistol belts, ammo pouches, first aid pouches, etc., (for WWI to present) is there any special storage care required other than the standard, precautions regarding sunlight, humidity, extreme temperatures etc. I know, if possible, pistol belts should be kept flat if possible. Is it OK to lay small field items (such as indicated above) on top of each other? Do these types of items need to be kept in archival type boxes, wrapped in archival tissue paper or require any other special treatment? No matter what, verdigris seems to rear its ugly presence and I'm also concerned about verdigris getting on another item. Thanks for any information.
