Thanks Ian!

RC,

No problem on the photos. It's summer and I know quite a few guys kind of take a break from the collecting world, or maybe they are just tired of me posting things from the collection! ;)  Not too many things left to share, but I've been saving the better stuff for last.

RC, I think trimming is everything! We just came off of a lengthily thread about a WASP grouping, and some people either confuse this thread with that one, or are just plain "WASPed-out".
This is a fine grouping and it should receive a good looking over.

I have been looking online for info on these ladies,I'll be posting anything interesting that I find. Here is a recent photo of President Obama signing a bill awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to the WASPs on 1 July 2009.Notice the insignia of the three WASPs around the President. The WASP on the left is wearing her collar insignia differently than the other two.

I have a question:

What is the insignia below the campaign ribbons on Lorraine Rodgers uniform?

She is on the right of Obama.

LtC. Helen M. Schaefer, is my WASP. I've posted her wings, and a few pictures. Kat has sent me a couple of others, if you find more on your search, please post them.

I don't know whether or not you have seen this, but I found some info regarding your WASP.It seems that 31 of her items have been donated to the Gateway to Woman's History collection at Texas Woman's University.

The items include the following:

WASP Santiago Blue battle jacket and slacks, dress uniform and slacks, WASP bomber jacket, high altitude mask, WASP insignia, USAF Reserve hat and miscellaneous WASP casual wear.

Unfortunately, the items cannot be viewed online. However, there is contact info available. My advice is to contact them and see if you can gain access to photos of her stuff that they have.

Here is the contact info:

Contact the Woman's Collection at (940) 898-3751 or [email protected]

I am looking at these more and more. I think the picture in post #27 is interesting. I have seen pictures of them in the khaki's and white shirt like at the graduation. I don't know if I have ever seen them in the khaki pants with long sleeve khaki shirts.

These are some amazing pictures. I know I will keep on looking.....Kat
