Couldn't find the short thread on this originally........thought I would post about it.

This was my 12th (I think!) show as a reeanctor there.  Our group does a PTO Army display, 25th ID on Guadalcanal 1943.  I got there Thurs evening just as the rain started......and it didn't stop till very late Friday night.  Saturday turned out to be pretty decent, and Sunday was great.  In all the years I've been there it's either been rain for at least one of the days or if there is no rain, it's 100 degrees.  I honestly don't think there has been the 'perfect' weekend there yet weather wise.  But...no matter that, it is such a unique show that I look forward to every year.  It's a chance to hang out with my WWII friends, meet vets, and educate the public.  Here's some pics!

Our 40mm Bofors AA gun brought back some memories for this vet.  He was attached to the 9th AF and was assigned to protect an airfield in France during 1945.  He said when the 262's started coming by they would just watch at first, they were so fast they couldn't track them at all.  They ended up just all firing at one point in the sky, staggering the altitude of the shells, almost putting up a wall of fire they they would hope the jets would run into.  Amazing listening to his stories!

Great looking show. How many Mustangs did they have at the event this year?

Looks like it was a good show...great warbirds and excellent displays. Excellent pics too, especially the "arty" one!

That "Take Off" picture is great with the sun low?

Looks like an oil painting or cartoon.

First weekend in June is the Air Show.

Same weekend as the Allendale and Rossmoyne Manor neighborhood yard sales.

I never made it to the show.

Vance Kyle couldn't get me to go ( check my old posts to ID this man).

Thank you for getting me there.

Peter
