From what I've gathered this 1962 era rucksack was originally a Specical Forces test rucksack. This rucksack is dated November 1962 and fetures a sewn in lable and not the standard ink stamp. Only 1,300 were made at the time. I also recently added to my collection a named camo poncho liner dated 1962 in similar condition.

You have some really nice VN gear Justin. Laid out with your minty helmets it'd make for a pretty nifty display! ;)

What do you stuff your rucks with to make them look full, Justin?

I just use old camo Woodland shirts as I have a ton of them. I like using something with weight to it rather then bubble wrap or a pillow.

I've got one of those, it was with my father's stuff. Took it apart years ago, and now can't figure out how to put it together.

Has a Davis belt and a holder for a rifle butt with it.

Thanks for posting pics of ya'lls 1962 Lightweight Rucksacks! I have 1965 and 1968 versions and have been searching for a 1962 version for years. Thanks again.
