Jack's Son Posted May 24, 2013 Share #2 Posted May 24, 2013 Could it be a newer Meyer restrike?
TRR Posted May 24, 2013 Share #3 Posted May 24, 2013 Most likely a post-war piece until 1960 when they started using the 9M hallmark. Probably a nickel plated base metal. Meyer metal I believe was all pre-war production and accompanied with a reverse Meyer shield. Have you had it tested as sterling?
tomcatter Posted May 24, 2013 Share #4 Posted May 24, 2013 In my humble opinion (I may be wrong)... I think it's not a restrike. I saw many Meyer wings like these, I think they are genuine wings from late 1940s to mid-1950s. They are probably made of nickel alloy, with silver plating. I think it's not a Meyer Metal, as it would be marked. It's probably not from WWII, it's probably not sterling, but I think it's a nice addition anyway. militarymodels Posted May 24, 2013 Share #5 Posted May 24, 2013 I think it's a post WW2 wings and is likely to be in the late 40's to the 50's production in my opinion. regards, Lonnie
