I picked up a nice German Camo jacket from the late 50s on a local fleamarket. Although I normaly only collect US I thought it is cool. I saw a picture of an US Officer somewhere once but cannot remember where. Wondering if there are more pictures of US forces wearing this kind of camo. The jacket came with a set of gloves and a helmet cover. Haven´t seen a helmet cover before.

I'd have to go with Patches too. There is a set of the US Forces wearing the French lizard pattern, in I believe West Germany.

This is Bund splinter pattern form the late 50s and its very possible it was used by US special s forces during exercise.

I have no problem with this all and have heard first hand accounts of foreign Cammo being used as a f u badge to cheese of the brass

Thats an amazing photo, makes sense too, with all the US occupying forces in Germany at the time, also the 187th used this German camo for makeshift helmet covers around 1958 when they were rapidly sent from being stationed in Germany to the Lebanon Crisis...heres a few pics of them in use......mike

Anymore info on this Kammo-man? curious as to where these GIs got the Spanish Camo material. Spanish Troops were not stationed in West Germany, because Spain, largely because of Franco was not a part of NATO till 1982.

Who knows

If you live in Europe u can find all sorts of surplus military fabric

Owen

Yes but were not talking 1990s or 2000s, were talking 1950s, stuff like this in my estimation was not surplus when they were first introduced in the 1950s.
