Hi all,
I have just received a greatcoat found in a barn in france.
It is smelly and not cleaned. There is some writing which appears to
be a name and ASN but it is very hard to read. Any ideas on
how to make it more readable?
Thanks
Eric

Play with the light and try to make it readable that way , otherwise i have no clue... Sometimes in a different light you are able to see more.

If you have his last name, it might make it easier to research him eventhough there might be just a few numbers of his ASN readable.

Try a negative (Reverse colors) of the image, I believe MS Paint can do this or most scanning software. The S/N looks like 334368??

A blacklight can sometimes help as well. I'd be a little concerned about just what that reddish-brown stain is,blood?.

I don't know if there is a non-destructive test you can carry out for blood. It doesn't look like rust to me,but then old blood stains tend to appear darker, almost brown.
