NickCT Posted March 24, 2013 Share #1 Posted March 24, 2013 Hey guys, Uniforms are definitely not my expertise. I picked this up this morning because I recognized a few things on it, but I just wanted some opinions on what I have exactly. It came with the cap and pants as well. The inside of the cap is named to a "Kraycar" and the service number is "52725226" it looks like. Thanks a lot in advance guys.
hbtcoveralls Posted March 24, 2013 Share #2 Posted March 24, 2013 Very nice uniform, 41st Armored infantry during the "Fort Hood" days late 60s through the 70s. Uniform reads as a 9th infantry division combat Veteran (vietnam) assigned to the 41st. Bronze star and Arcom both with V for valor, CIB. Very nice to have a uniform that's not stripped. TRR Posted March 24, 2013 Share #3 Posted March 24, 2013 A real nice complete uniform. With some sleuthing, I would think you have enough to track down the Soldier. What is interresting to me is the multiple valor with no PH.
atb Posted March 24, 2013 Share #4 Posted March 24, 2013 Thaere has not been a 41st Armored Infantry Battalion since 1957. That's when the battalions into which the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment was divided in 1946 were consolidated to form the 41st Infantry. The uniform was worn by a member of the 1st or 2nd Battalion of the 41st Infantry at Ft. Hood.
MattS Posted March 24, 2013 Share #5 Posted March 24, 2013 Too bad the nametag fell off leaving only the backing. The lack of PH just means he was lucky enough to not get hit!
KurtA Posted March 24, 2013 Share #6 Posted March 24, 2013 Brings back memories! Same DUI's and 2AD shoulder patch that I wore while at Ft Hood in the 80's with the 2/41 Inf.
bellasilva Posted October 19, 2014 Share #7 Posted October 19, 2014 As I was just googling a name written inside an ERDL camo jacket I have this thread came up, as it is named to a "Kraycar" as well. I wonder if they are one and the same

NickCT Posted October 31, 2014 Author Share #10 Posted October 31, 2014 Sorry for just noticing this now, Bella! I did pick this up in CT actually! So it's probably safe to assume it's the same person, great find!
bellasilva Posted November 2, 2014 Share #11 Posted November 2, 2014 Great to hear! Any chance there's a first name hidden somewhere in the uniform?
