It would be interesting to see a box of airborne tabs, does anybody have a box? I wonder if it just had, TAB, AIRBORNE, BLACK or TAB, AIRBORNE, 11TH AIR ASSAULT ?

I have a box of black/yellow tabs somewhere. If I remember correctly they are 50s dated though, not WWII dates. I'll try to dig it out and take some photos.

Hey,

This thread is awesome. It is very interesting to see the factory boxes. It may be stupid but when you are a collector, a little history around the patch itself is always a plus.

EXCELLENT example of 101st patches with matching twill backing in their original box. Thanks for sharing!

A box of Toilet Bowl/Seat Cuff patches in their September 1945 dated box, notice how the either the company that made these or the QMC redacted SHOULDER, and left SLEEVE, I guess since these insignia's are not truly "Shoulder Sleeve Insignia.(item by the way is up for sale via single/loose examples over at Suzy's ebay site, you know Sam Naglieri's Daughter :D).

NIce box of WW2 corporal chevrons dated Jan. 1945. Interesting to see that the wool applique winter chevrons were still being made that late in the war.

Noteworthy that they are described as Cut & Sewn rather than their classic description, Applique.
