Schnicklfritz Posted May 3, 2008 Share #35 Posted May 3, 2008 Great photos! Thanks for posting. I find it interesting that the path in close up in post 32 looks like a patch that was on a recent Ebay auction. Note what looks like edge embrodery around the star. I have the cover to this edition, nice to see the full article! Cheers! Marc
Schnicklfritz Posted May 3, 2008 Share #36 Posted May 3, 2008 Here's the patch I'm talking about. Note the edging around the star. Of course, my eyes might be playing a trick on me....
cthomas Posted May 3, 2008 Share #37 Posted May 3, 2008 Here's a neat one of the 5th Marine Band playing at a ball game in occupied Germany. Note the wounded Marine Captain sitting in the front row. You can clearly see his mind is not on the game... Not my clearest Marine image but the only patched one I have in the collection.

Leatherneck72 Posted May 8, 2008 Share #39 Posted May 8, 2008 Span Am Marines? These Leathernecks are just post-Span-Am period..with the EGA's moved around to the front of the campaign hat. I would put them about 1903. Proably home from the Phillipine Insurrection. Brian
