gwb123 Posted March 14, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 14, 2008 Very nice. I love giving something like this a home. I hope you may have also found some supporting information for name or location. The sad thing is to find this in a stack of photos that obviously came out of a family album. Of course, we pull the one's that interest us. But what happens to the rest of the family record? Weddings, births, cars, travel, the old farm? This all gets pulled apart... it is a shame that families do not safeguard and treasure these things. Inevitably someone comes forward to write the family history and asks "What happened to all this stuff?" At that point it is just gone....
BEAST Posted March 14, 2008 Share #3 Posted March 14, 2008 Both very nice photos! The second one is a ROTC cadet, maybe Jr. ROTC or military school. It would be nice to identify the school. It looks like he is wearing a NRA marksmanship medal.
JonG Posted March 14, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted March 14, 2008 They both came from the Phoenix area. The second picture was glued in the cardboard frame with Bate Phoenix at the bottom. I carefully removed it hoping for some additonal ID on back.....but none.
Bob Hudson Posted March 14, 2008 Share #5 Posted March 14, 2008 There was a GLENN SNODGRASS in Phoenix in the 1930 census: "Glenn A Snodgrass Florence M Phoenix, Maricopa, AZ abt 1895 Kansas" - he died Apr 1969 in Phoenix and exact date of birth was 31 Jan 1895. But I cannot find him in the World War I Draft Registration Cards (but there are a couple of Glenn Snodgrass names).
GIl Sanow Posted March 14, 2008 Share #6 Posted March 14, 2008 Well, looking at the leggings in the Snodgrass photo, I suspect it was taken Pre WW1 G
JonG Posted March 14, 2008 Author Share #7 Posted March 14, 2008 Great catch Gil - Prewar front lacing M1903 leggings. Using a magnifying glass his left collar brass has cross cannons with "28"
