horsa Posted March 12, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2008 New to forum. First off, thanks to those who provide this website. I appreciate the opportunity of posting here. Have a pin I've always wondered about. Most likely it will stay unknown but thought I'd see if anyone here can make an ID. About the size of a standard parachute badge, clutchbacked, no marks but looks sterling. "One" is enamel. Thank you in advance. horsa.
treetop Posted July 12, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 12, 2008 This is a metal jump wing for the 1st airborne division- a wing of the Confederate Air Force based out of Texas in the 70's and 80's. I don't know if the AirForce part is still active but believe the Airborne division shut down long ago. They were a group of civilian airborne enthusiasts who put on jump demonstrations at air shows Etc and wore military uniforms and equipment. I have a set of these wings in cloth but was never able to get a metal set. Very nice badge.
