buzzard517 Posted February 28, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 28, 2013 Don't know if this has been covered, didn't see it. Can you get paint off of wool without damaging it? Found a nice, large size Ike but it has two quarter sized, yellow paint smears on the front.

It is possible, possible, depending on how much and what kid of paint is involved, to very very very gently "chip" or "scrape" most of it off with the patience of Methuselah, but usually at best you will only succeed in getting down TO the fibers in the weave, which you will find have been microscopically "stained" with pigment. A textiles conservator has the proper equipment and chemicals to accomplish the task but their services are not cheap.
