Att: The US M 3 boker have 9 rings in the hilt ? In Cole`s book they have 8 rings. Maybee this is a "one og a kind" ??

In Silveys new book i seen one M 3 with 9 rings ,but that was not a Boker .

Some good looking M3's posted here and far as I can tell they're legit. But I need to post a "buyer beware" warning here. Be advised that there are guys currently "restoring" M3's. They take a ratty old knife and make it "new" looking and far as I'm concerned such a piece has zero collector value but I see such knives selling for big bucks. And how many of those have been resold as "original"?

I sold most of my M3's several years ago when this M3 mania was starting. I enjoyed the period during the early days of ebay when M3's were plentiful and reasonably prices.

BUT...all this being said....they really are good looking knives. :D

I understand what you say. But my M 3 Boker have came from US landlease operation too Norway . No one have mess with this knife.

YES...I agree. Yours looks "right". I just posted that advisory for the newbie collector who would see your M3's and then rush out to buy one on ebay without doing his homework on them.

Its very hard too made a fresh M 3 . Its several tons pressure on the blade when the hilt are fastenet & peened at the pommel. In the ricasso area where the blades end there is some "set Up" marks for the JIG ,when the blade are pressed fast & peened secure.

But i am agree with you MK ,some folks bluing and refinished M3 knives for sales . But collectors like you and me see the difference at once .

Hey

Yeah...tired but looks OK. Good chance it's been refinished. Can't say about the originality of the handle without seeing the pommel.

You have an excellent eye Greg. I bought two relics just to have fun in restoring myself one of them. The pommel was badly pitted and flaming bomb nearly disappeared.
