SvenV Posted January 17, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2013 Hello guys, I have a question, the Lee Enfield No 4 Mk I* was produced in 1942, but did it also reached the battle troops in WW2 or was it used later?! All help appreciated. Regards, Sven
12thengr Posted January 17, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 17, 2013 Except for a couple scenes in the movie 'Sahara' with Humphrey Bogart, the 'smelly' wasn't used by U.S. forces at all.
Big Al Posted January 17, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2013 Was it made by Savage?
Awheeler Posted January 17, 2013 Share #4 Posted January 17, 2013 The US was contracted via lend-lease to supply no. 4s. Savage did make these I believe.
Johan Willaert Posted January 17, 2013 Share #5 Posted January 17, 2013 Yes, the LE was made by SAVAGE for Lend Lease contracts. However this rifle was not generally used by US Armed Forces and hence falls outside the scope of the USMF. Therefore this topic is locked.
