Does anyone know a good site or thread or book that is a guide to military crests? Im having a hard time identifying some of mine. Thanks for your help

This is the official Pentagon / Institute of Heraldry site which lists all of the current mottos. If your DUI has a motto (as most do) just look it up here and it'll tell you which unit it belongs to.

Your best bet is to join asmic and get their guides, as they catalog some really obscure ones not found elsewhere.

I would recommend the first guides you get are the ASMIC Motto Guide and the ASMIC Charge List. These are almost always extremely helpful to me. THE IOH website is a good resource as well.

Agreed, ASMIC is the way to go. the motto guide alone is worth the price of membership..

The ASMIC MOTTO GUIDE and Charge List is the best resource you can buy. I cannot collect without out my copy. Danny

Hi,
I'm using the book of Berry J.Stein which includes more than 3000 DUI's on a color plate - each DUI is also described in what unit,campaigns and when was it approved.Hope this
