wartimecollectables.com Posted December 16, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2012 Can anyone enlighten me on this piece? It's packed and ready to go just as I found it. But can't find any markings? How do I date it? Value? Seems to be missing the D ring. Airborne? THANKS!

rr01 Posted December 16, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 16, 2012 Very nice example of the older style reserve with a right handed pull pocket. Should be a 24' or 28' canopy either white or OD. Not much fun to land under with full gear since the descent rate would be faster than the 35" main and the attach point on the harness created an awkward body position for landing. But that's why it's for emergencies only. I have only one of those handles from about 35 years ago.

WWII Parachutist Posted December 18, 2012 Share #6 Posted December 18, 2012 That's a T-7A reserve pack. I would guess it's a about 1963, but it could be anywhere from early 50's to late 60's. Your probably looking at about $100 - sometimes they go for more, but it's missing the ripcord and the pack is a bit worn

5thwingmarty Posted December 18, 2012 Share #8 Posted December 18, 2012 Value would be much higher if there is an actual chute in it. Since the D-ring is missing I am guessing it is stuffed with foam to fill it out so it looks better on display. There are usually D-rings available on ebay for not too much money. Marty No, it's a chute. I flipped in on ebay for the $100 as is. Happy with that and don't have to mess with finding the D ring.
