ph3s Posted January 2, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted January 2, 2013 anyone? Or perhaps the info is classified as "Top Secret", do not open till 3012 ? In that case, please tell me how one can tell when the rifle was manufactured? the year or production? I know about the date on the barrel but most of weapons were re-barreled. Greaser Posted January 2, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 2, 2013 As far as I know, there isnt a website with a serial number listing by year. How about you provide the make and serial range of the gun in question, so it can be looked up in Ballou's Rock in a Hard Place. I'm not about to scan or transcribe all of the serial number info out of the book, but would be happy to look up a specific number for you. trenchbuff Posted January 2, 2013 Share #4 Posted January 2, 2013 Bruce Canfield put out a couple good books on WW1 and WW2 weapons that probably has that info. I know that probably defeats the purpose of getting it free on the web, but you can't beat a good library for reference.

cplnorton Posted January 3, 2013 Share #6 Posted January 3, 2013 There is a yahoo BAR forum. That is the only place I have ever found out any info on a BAR. All the big collectors plus a lot of the big time authors will answer your quesitons if you ask them. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WWIIBARMAN/
