Some guys at ,what I believe to be, Camp White, Oregon, in 1943. A part of the company softball team.

Here's the whole team. All except one wiseguy trying to look somewhat serious.

Marked on Back Romano and Gunny Emerson, Apr 52. Came from a collection of USMC photos I got at a flea market. About half women, half men, some in Korea. most of the female shots seem to be at a camp somewhere in the US? Not sure about this one, looks pretty warm for April in Korea.

Here's an aspect common to many of us...whether its the O Club, NCO Club, the EM Club or somewhere off-post. The off duty beer bust. Pizza and cold brewski's . This one ca. 1962-63

I was going through my grandfather's photos and found some to share.

The Battle of Chicago, 2/20/43. My grandfather is at the far right.

Training in Florida, 1943

(This kind of scene seems to be pretty common!)

Some more random silliness (January 1944):

My grandfather looking like a bada** with an M-1 carbine and a knife clenched in his teeth:

Hope these pictures gave you guys some good chuckles :)

Thank you! The other man's name is Donald Anderson. He was one of Pop's best friends while he was in the Army. Quite a character, too, from what Pop told me.

They look like trouble makers. Those were some of the best soldiers.
