The Thai-made patch came when the PA ANG sent EC-121s to Thailand to support the war effort over Southeast Asia.

As a former PA Guard aviator, I've gotta say, that's a heck of a grouping! Thanks for showing it!

Jon,

Thank you for your service.

Were you in the Army National Guard ?

Most of this grouping came in dribs and drabs from the 80's to the 90's.

The General and I got to know each other very well over the years.

He got a lot of material from other men he knew in the NG for me.

He might still be alive. He was 2 years ago.

And thank you for your comment

Wow...seeing this one just now....very neat. Definite history there, especially for us Pennsylvania guys! Can you show a closer shot of the 111th support patch near the middle of the group?
I did a lot of photo/video work for the 103rd FS, 111th FW of the PA ANG here at Willow Grove, before they lost their A-10s. Made a webpage for them too....http://www.flyeronephotos.com/111FW
Shame they are no longer flying.....Yeah, an Air Guard Unit without a flying mission......

Seeing that 148th FIS patch also reminds me that every year at the Reading WWII weekend in June, inside the hanger there is always a table set up with a couple of vets who belonged to the squadron, and they have a photo copied pamphlet to hand out with some history on it. I know I have one somewhere, working with the 111th and just being in the good state of PA always caught my interest.

Waltz,

Thank you for your service.

By the way the Middle Atlantic Air Museum has a 1964 flight jacket of Posey's with the orange liner.

I was offered either jacket and chose the one in this thread.

Here is a closer shot of all the patches.

Yep, I was PA Army Guard from 2005 on. Got my wings in 07 and got out this February, moved to Oklahoma and now I'm an Army Civilian!

Great stuff in this grouping!

Thanks for the close up, those are some really cool and unique patches there with the PA ANG and 111th. Haven't seen those before!
And actually, thank you, but I'm not in the service, I'm a school teacher and did amateur photography/video work off base anyways, watching the aircraft land/take off, etc.....through a couple guys I knew already in the unit, I made some contacts and was invited on base, to the ranges, and even up in a KC-135 refueling mission to document their work. Had a lot of fun, got a lot of unique oppurtunities but felt nice to give the media back to them to use.......... it really sucks they are not flying anymore.
