This is a very similar situation to the one I had with Colonel Herrington.

I'm all over Silver Springs Flea Market back in the mid 80's.

An older gentleman has overheard my asking for military items and approaches me about a Sam Brown belt.

Says he has nothing else.

I give him my card and I'm on my way.

He calls me that night and comes over to the house with more than the Sam Brown.

I find out that he was a B-17 pilot in WW2.

The following weekend he brings a cigar box full of stuff.

When I get home I start to look through it and find a medal I'd never seen before.

So I call him up to ask about it.

It's the Pennsylvania Distinguished Service Medal.

He got it for starting the Pa Air Guard.

That is when I found out he was a General

Over the course of several years I got what is pictured in this thread.

He also introduced me to several other pilots but those items are long gone.

General Posey would call me from time to time and produce something else that he wanted to sell.

Turns out he collected stamps, did a lot of skiing and was selling the one to fund the other.

This is his National Guard Association blazer.

Posey served in WW2 flying 22 missions with the 94th Bomb Group.

In 1946, as a staunch advocate of airpower Posey was instrumental in forming the 148th F.S. the first tactical flying unit in the history of Pennsylvania.

They flew P-47's.

Here is Posey with his plane in Reading, Pa.

Years ago Posey had all the insignia removed and had the jacket cleaned.

He and his wife put the insignia back on and he wore it this way.

And a picture of him wearing it.

I met General Kafkalas while he was walking his dog one day.

After many years he sold me his broken Rolex.

Some of General Posey's things can be seen at the Reading Air Museum.

But you won't see this one there.
