aubagne98 Posted November 23, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2012 Hello, I have found this site with an unit citation which is unknown to me. Usually a unit citation, in France CdG with palme, will get at the 2nd award a fourragère CdG, the 4th award a fourragère MM. But what about this ribbon shown in that site? I have never seen this and in a french forum nobody knows it either. A ribbon for the 1st award of a french CdG - is this real or fantasy? If real, does anybody has photos of this? http://usarmyinsigniahomepage.110mb.com/formed4.html Thanks Michael
ZeketheAwesome Posted November 25, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 25, 2012 Can you post a photo of the actual item in question? The link you sent shows a couple of pics and none of them look to me like CdG's. (Although I am not a French Medal expert by any means)
F-X Posted November 25, 2012 Share #3 Posted November 25, 2012 One thing is sure, this kind of "unit citation" doesn't exist in France. In my opinion, someone not very documented "americanized" it. So I would say pure fantasy.
aubagne98 Posted November 25, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted November 25, 2012 Can you post a photo of the actual item in question? Hi, the first citation is awarded by pinning the CdG oh the "cravate" of the regiment´s flag (french: drapeau). http://www.defense.g...-infanterie.jpg There is nothing to wear at the uniforms. For the second award the drapeau is decorated with the fourragere. In the picture of the link you can see the drapeau of the 2nd Regiment Etranger d´Infanterie with a fourragere CdG TOE an the cravate is awarded an Croix Valeure Militaire. The ribbon in my question is not French, it is an american ribbon. But does this ribbon really exist or is it fantasy ? - I do not know both.
