duarte1223 Posted January 13, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 13, 2007 This isn't really US militaria, but it was made by a US veteran, and only flown over US soil. This is a model my grandpa made of a Fieseler Storch after he got home from the war. It doesn't fly anymore, but me and my cousin have plans to make it operable again this summer. Hopefully I'll get some video of it in the air to share. Here's the Wikipedia page on this plane: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fieseler_Fi_156 Adam

Hawk914 Posted January 17, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 17, 2007 Now that's pretty cool... being a modeler myself, I can certainly appreciate it. When exactly did he build it? You say it was "after he got home from the war", but when exactly was it, do you know? Within a year or so, or more? And also, was it a kit or did he build it from plans... or was it a total scratch-job? The reason I'm asking all this is because if he built this in the 40s, then it's a damn nice job because the majority of flying models I've seen from that era aren't as refined as this one seems to be. Thanks for posting this! Fade to Black...
