Guest jcmurp Posted February 19, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 19, 2008 Hi I am looking for any info to validate this m3,I was told through another board that this was probably a m3 by imperial with a barwood m6.The only doubt was the shape of the crossgaurd and that it is unmarked(visibly anyway) any input appreciated.I thought maybe it was avery early version or something else.I spoketo the soldiers son who said it was used by his father in the philipines during WWII I do not see the ordnance or any other marks except for very very faint writing on the metal of the m6
gunbarrel Posted February 19, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 19, 2008 James, You must love to talk about this knife, since it was hashed and re-hashed here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=533793 and you already put it up for sale on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/US-M-3-M3-WWII-Imperia...emZ190199793926 You are not drumming up business, are you? PS if you want to see an Imperial M3 in truly excellent condition (blade-marked, at that!), check out this one that costa has for sale in our forum: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...showtopic=15833
Gregory Posted February 19, 2008 Share #3 Posted February 19, 2008 Somebody was fascinated by the British F-S dagger 1st Pattern with its S-shaped guard and formed this M3 guard the same.
