JDK Posted November 6, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 6, 2012 Here's a very large group to a B-17 Lead Pilot with the 96th Bomb Squadron. Captain Wallet finished 35 missions with the 2nd BG. At the end he was flying as the lead pilot for the squadron. He was hit by flak on a mission and managed to land his plane safely before passing out. After his tour in the ETO he applied to fly as a B-29 pilot in the pacific. He had just been assigned to a unit when the war ended. The group consists of 2 flight jackets, a large photo album, tons of paperwork and newsclippings, his medals and citations, tons of uniform items and insignia. It's the largest group to one guy that I have ever seen. He kept everything!Flight jackets1. 2. Wearing the A-21. 2. 3.
