gerber mk II

Hey guys. I am kind of on a blade kick this week. I have been going back through my collection and photographing everything. I picked this knife up a few years back, and had no idea what it was. I assumed it was military, and I thought I recognized it from a book. Now I know what it is, and I am even more happy . according to the serial number it was made in 1982.

I was wondering, is there a similar way to date kbar's?

Also, does anyone else have any gerber's to show?????

Nice find. I have one I bought in the late 80s and carried in El Salvador, and another I bought in the early 90s, I think. They're in my household goods (that I haven't seen in 7 years) so I don't know the serial numbers.

 

I ditched carrying the Gerbers after I fingered my first Strider....
