SARGE Posted October 29, 2012 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2012 Gents, I picked up an interesting set of circa WWI tailor made officer breeches at the Des Moines militaria show this weekend that I thought I would show. They are unmarked and have an interesting feature that I have not seen before. The breeches have quilted inner thighs as normally seen on mounted breeches as well as a standing loop on the right inside thigh. The loop is identical to the belt loops at the waist and appears to have been put in place to facilitate a tie down strap on the pistol holster. The loop seems like a good idea to keep the tie down strap from moving around unnecessarily. It is always nice to see an interesting variation that one has not seen before. RustyCanteen Posted October 30, 2012 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2012 That is interesting, I don't recall seeing a loop on any before, not a bad idea though. Nice find, RC
jasonm Posted December 30, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 30, 2018 Here is another pair. I was researching these Trousers and saw your post. Mine also have no tags or stampings. Missing the buttons on the front pockets. Take care. jason

P-40Warhawk Posted December 30, 2018 Share #5 Posted December 30, 2018 I think I have a pair of tailored cotton breeches with the loop. If there was never a spec calling for it, then it may be that a common pattern was sold among tailors.
