I was invited to be the guest speaker at a meeting of the retired employees of Pennsylvania Power & Light.

One of the men invited me over to his house.

Nothing was for sale Ike jacket M-42 paperwork.

His wife found a small box in the basement and what I picked was from that box.

I got a bunch of paperwork with it as well but it has gotten separated from the group.

Along with that was his name.

All that is left is the laundry number scratched to the back of his DI's.

I hope you enjoy this group and leave a comment.

Here is a picture of Mr M ( no relation ) :D

He is originally from Steelton, Pa.

And in the 90's lived in the Middletown/Highspire area Spring Garden.

I know his nick name was Zeke.

He told me a story of when they were relieved, at the end of the Bulge, by US armor.

A tank rolled by as Mr M walked on the road and someone yelled ZEKE.

One of the tankers was a baseball team mate from school.

Some of the insignia were duplicates.

The flag was cut out of an invasion armband and then some green paint slopped over the white ends.

464th Distinctive Insignia made by Eby.

Cap badge has a hand painted yellow boarder that Mr M did himself ( poor job )

The back.

Notice the laundry number engraved/scratched into it.

I use the word engraved because it is too deep to be a scratch.

An interesting selection of insignia. I'm liking those DUIs and hand-painted cap patch. I also like the pic of the badged-up M41 jacket. Thanks for posting.
