WWII? Army Officer's Dress Coat

I got this at an estate sale about a year ago. The A-2 jacket I posted came from the same place. There is usually another collector who beats me in line and gets the "good" stuff at the sales. Most of the stuff they had pictured was at the front of the house. I realized I had no chance for any of it, so I went upstairs and stumbled across 4-5 uniform jackets in a closet. I think this tag says "1942", but it's hard to read.

It indeed says 1942, the 1 is barely able to be read! Check the pockets for items, or tags for a name, unless there isn't one!
