hhbooker2 Posted February 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2008 In my collection are housed United States Navy uniform regulations dating from 1841 to 1897 as well as 1905 to 1941 as well, but these shown here are from 1897 showing the rates worn by petty officers. I scanned all of these from the actual books and put them on CD disks, easier to view and store them. hhbooker2 Posted February 15, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted February 15, 2008 1883 was when this plate was made showing naval officer's sword belts when they wore them exposed on their full dress uniform, today only the straps that hold the sword are seen while wear dress whites. In 1941 the full dress uniform disappeared from the wardrobe.
