Seaman Raymond Ciesluk began his Naval career in March, 1914 an enlisted man. On November 1918 he accepted an appointment as Acting Pay Clerk for temporary service, and in October 1919 reverted back to enlisted status and was Honorably Discharged. In February 1922 he reenlisted in the Navy and accepted an appointment as acting Pay Clerk. On September 1, 1946 he was placed on the retired list with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

During his service, he was involved in WW1, Nicaragua, China and finally WWII. He served on a variety of ships, but was always part of the paymaster's.

This grouping contains his Medals, Origonal Documents, Insignia, and Pictures, as well as paperwork from two archive sources.
