Proud Kraut Posted February 10, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2008 I know that this is not a militaria topic but I have learned that many people join this forum with outstanding knowledge about every theme conserning U.S. history. About 25 years ago (just got my first patch from a U.S. "REFORGER" participant who infected me with patch collecting) I visited a Flea market at Hanau, a town close to Frankfurt. I saw this bundle of notes and bought them for a few D-Mark thinking that this was funny "Spielgeld" (money for playing/gambling). I do not believe that I bought 13 real confederate notes here but meanwhile I'm in this forum and maybe I have a chance to know when and why this collector copies (I think) were made. GICOP Posted February 10, 2008 Share #3 Posted February 10, 2008 The notes you picture were given away with packs of CIVIL WAR NEWS bubble gum cards in the 1960's.
