The first mistake Ms Snyder made was to let me in the house.

Amongst other things I found this.

Her brothers burial flag from WW2.

I think it is addressed to his mom but came from sister.

He was a bomber crewman who was shot down over Europe.

The bracelet was found in the box under the flag sometime after I had it.

She still retains the engraved Air Medal.

Manny

I have a near identical flag with the same hoist rings secured by heavy rivits.

I also have a flag in the effects of a KIA Navy Hellcat pilot. He was never found.Went down off the coast of Cebu(P.I.) in 1944.

Also have a coule other WW2 era ones.Very high quality flags.

Very nice flag with history.

I would write all of his information on a tag and secure it to the flag. One of my other flag collecting friends writes on the flag header with permanent marker, but I have not come to terms with doing that.

Nice to see the letter that accompanies it. I have had several dozen flags, a dozen boxes, but only one letter.

I recently picked up his Killed in Action Accolade online and found this thread so thought I’d add it. And please don’t contact me about returning it to the family etc.

On fee harbor and apparently the family pieced out his stuff since you got the flag and the gunner bracelet but not this, wonder what ever happened to his Named Air Medal that they kept and his Purple Heart medal and certificate.

I should have been more specific, what state did it come from?

I think a forum member has the flag now.
