Here is a couple of photo's of the 3518th Ordnance Medium Automotive Maintenance Co.

Campaign participation credits:

Normandy

Northern France

Rhineland

Ardennes-Alsace

Central Europe

Meritorious Unit Commendation for service from February 28 to April 28, 1945: GO 215, Hqs 9th U.S. Army, June 11, 1945.

Occupation of Germany from May 2 to September 3, 1945.

I started a thread in the research section and was asked to post the photo's. So here there are. We have two group photos and I'll post the overalls and then closer sections. These photos are from the effects of Frank H. Fortkamp.

Thanks for posting these and for going to the extra effort to post enlarged crops. Is there any indication when or where these pictures were taken?

Nothing to say when/where made. Photo paper is embossed "POLYPHOTO", if that helps. Glad you enjoyed seeing them.

No, I couldn't pick him out. Of course this was about 15 years before I was born! I saw a couple of possibles, but I'll have to run it bye my brothers & sisters before I'm sure.

 

My Dad was short 5"7 or 8", and had a wide nose. I thought he might be on the front row. Hard to say.

 

Any chance of getting a higher resolution scan?

My lucky guess today is that T5 Hisle is standing in the second row immediately behind the officers in post #3 (4th from left) and post#7 (2nd from left). It looks like the company held their positions between the two shots and the only difference I discern is caps-on and caps-off, except that a different soldier got to hold the dog (which is not wearing a cap in either picture).
