dmert66 Posted September 1, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2012 Picked this up at a flea market this morning. The seller stated his father was in the 4th Marines and created this when he was on Okinawa. 1945 dated shell. All brass-should I clean this up or leave it as is?? TLHSS Posted September 1, 2012 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2012 It's outstanding just the way it is. Don't clean it ... It will remove the age patina, which looks great. Tim

uplandmod Posted September 1, 2012 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2012 I say leave it! I regret polishing out items when I was a kid, it will take years to get that patina again. Incredible items!Leonardo
turmanator Posted September 1, 2012 Share #6 Posted September 1, 2012 I considered telling you to put a buffing wheel on your grinder with some Brasso and go to town but I bet that would put my life at jeopardy....
