When I was much younger and could move better I yard sale'd like crazy.

Now I just yard sale.

Standard procedure for me was to talk to anyone who was out and about.

This day I was in Enola, Pa.

I saw a man doing yard work and I stopped to talk to him.

We went inside and opened his trunk of mementoes.

This is what I found less the TR stuff which is long gone.

There is too much for one picture so I broke it into 4 groups.

I will show all four groups and then get into the details.

The group in post #1

Has the only other color WW2 portrait I ever found.

Here is Fe wearing his 8th Armored ( he was in the 53rd Armored Engineers ) patch which was the last unit he served with after the war.

That field behind him is now a shopping center with Enola in the background.

Also in the picture are several unit histories including the 331st Combat Team and 83rd Infantry Division.

The 331 C.T. included Company C of the 308th Engineers of which Fe was a member.

Page 2 of the letter. This where the change up takes place.

I blotted out some letters.

I like the way it starts off being a normal letter, changes up, then goes right back.

M that letter to his Mom is Priceless! He must have had a good relationship with her as my dad would have whooped my own butt if I talked to my mom like that when I was his age.. lol. I like the true gritty feel of it.

The Belgian Military Decoration.

I have never found one of these medals before and I have gotten stuff from hundreds of WW2 vets.

Is it scarce ??
