manayunkman Posted August 22, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2012 OK here goes. Back in the late 80's I was running around Silver Springs Flea Market ( Too bad it no longer exists ) and a friend approaches me wanting to show me his latest yard sale find. I about fell off the planet when I realized it was OSS. I chased after the group for sometime and finally hit the right Dollar amount and got it. Now some 5 years later I am doing a display for the 50th anniversary at the Mechanicsburg Museum. I'm talking to a lady who came to see it only to find out she is the younger sister of this veteran. She is the one who sold her brothers stuff at a yard sale. But she had more. This is the complete group. The sister told me that one day during the war there was a knock on the door. It was her brother and friends dressed in combat gear all painted up with grease paint. Scared the daylights out of her and mom. Enjoy this first photo there are more to come. manayunkman Posted August 22, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted August 22, 2012 Orisek first served in Europe and participated in these campaigns: Naples Foggia, Rome Arno and Ground Combat Yugoslavia per his discharge paper. He was with the 2671st Special Recon Battalion. Here is a little group that represents that time. Notice the Spec. Recon. Bn. shoulder tab on his shoulder. The one in the black and white photo is the top one in this photo.
