These are a few illustrations painted by Tom Lea which were in the 2 Aug. 1943 edition of Life Magazine. His painting ability was outstanding and he did not avoid the ugliness of war.post-70300-1345336611.jpg

I remember this artist and copied his airplane art as a kid.

 

Poignant pictures to say the least.

great artwork! I remember seeing Tom Lea paintings somewhere as a kid and they really captivated me. I need to google him to see what became of him...
