338thRCT Posted August 16, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2012 This is from a negative that I obtained and shows the USS Toledo in port in the Phillipines ( I think) near the end of WW2 or shortly after.

338thRCT Posted March 4, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted March 4, 2017 Five years later, while doing some house re-organizing I came across the group of negatives that this one came fro. I decided to re-scan this to bring out more detail and to add two more that were with it. From some other pictures that were with these, it does look like this was in the Phillipines, maybe ca. 1949. 338thRCT Posted March 4, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted March 4, 2017 and lastly.... You sailors will have to tell me if all those canvas coverings are for when the ship will be in dock for a while as for re-fitting ? Would that be done in the P.I.'s
MastersMate Posted March 4, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 4, 2017 With the breakwaters in the background, possibly Long Beach ???
MastersMate Posted March 4, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 4, 2017 The last photo with the shadows across the top of the turret would indicate more than likely early afternoon and looking in a west or south west direction ??
MastersMate Posted March 4, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 4, 2017 Searched some old chart catalogs. More likely, with the OP information, the port of Manila with same type of breakwater set up.
