crbruce Posted August 16, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2012 One of the most important (but most often overlooked) military jobs is that of a unit Sergeant Major. I served in the infantry in Germany, the 101st Airborne, and the 82nd Airborne. As an NCO, one of the first people I met in each unit was the Battalion Command Sergeant Major. A Sergeant Major set the tone of the unit, and literally was the whip that kept it in shape. Please post any photo's or official portraits that you have of Sergeants Major that you have. To get this started, I am posting the official portrait that I have of former FORSCOM Sergeant Major, CSM Jerry T. Alley. I look forward to seeing who you have! BTW- I have this photo in high-resolution for anyone who would like a high-res copy. Carl
