tigerfan Posted July 27, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 27, 2012 Picked up this 82nd airborne glider infantry ike jacket, overseas cap and jump boots at an estate sale this morning. It is untouched condition direct from the attic. The estate sale promoter told me the families last name and with that and the launders mark I found his enlistment record on NARA site. I will let the photos tell the rest.

tigerfan Posted July 27, 2012 Author Share #9 Posted July 27, 2012 Does anyone know what the - 5 or - S means at the end of the launder mark?
patches Posted July 28, 2012 Share #10 Posted July 28, 2012 I am aware that this Ike has come as is from the family and presumedly remained untouched, but if I may courteously point out the fact that the Belgian Fourragère is on backwards, the brass finial on the seperate unbraided cord will be to the front hanging down. tigerfan Posted July 28, 2012 Author Share #11 Posted July 28, 2012 This particular Belgian lanyard does not have an extra part with a brass finial. At a close look it never had one.
