History Man Posted July 12, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 12, 2012 Was offered this jacket and the buyer doesnt know if it is real or a repo. I am not sure about the authenticity as I have never owned one before. Any thoughts would be appreciated. **Sorry for the crappy pics but only pics I have to go on** Philip

Sabrejet Posted July 12, 2012 Share #4 Posted July 12, 2012 An original in such a large size and in such good shape would cost $$$$$$$$!!! How much does the seller want for it?
History Man Posted July 12, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted July 12, 2012 An original in such a large size and in such good shape would cost $$$$$$$$!!! How much does the seller want for it? He wants $80 for it. I can try and get some better pics from the seller if it will help. Philip
Sabrejet Posted July 12, 2012 Share #6 Posted July 12, 2012 Let's put it this way....if it's a good repro (likely) then $80 is probably a fair price. If it was an original then $80 would make it the deal of the century!!
History Man Posted July 12, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted July 12, 2012 Thanks for all of the fast responses and info, will probably pass as I am not into filler pieces/repo items. Philip
Jeeper704 Posted July 12, 2012 Share #8 Posted July 12, 2012 A reproduction for sure and certainly for that price. For 80 USD you can have an original sleeve. The "M1941" designation in the label is bogus as well. And it seems the cuffs and collar are in pristine condition as well(?). Erwin
Sabrejet Posted July 12, 2012 Share #9 Posted July 12, 2012 I found a reference to a Beaconwear Tanker Jacket on this Dutch reenactors' website. Just click on the "translate" option. http://www.re-enactmentforum.nl/forum/topi...-tanker-jacket/
