captaxe Posted January 25, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2008 Purchased these two pics recently--thought they might be of interest-- they are period photos taken in Berlin in August 1945- First one is Gen. James Gavin greeting Patton as he arrives for a divisional review. The second pic was purchased with a vague description by the seller of "soldiers on parade", but a close inspection of the flag flying at the head of the company shows that it is Co. Greg Sebring Posted January 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 28, 2008 interesting photos,...if I'm not mistaken, I believe it was at this Divisional review that General Patton stated that the 82nd Airborne Honor Guard was the sharpest and best he'd ever seen and it was given the name "Americas Guard of Honor".
