jon prince Posted June 3, 2012 Share #1 Posted June 3, 2012 Gents, I'm posted this for a friend who recently obtained the vest below as part of a large lot of items. From previous posts on this forum and some other reading it seems it's an original condition experimental pattern of the M1952 armor vest from the mid-Korean war period. Could any forum members please confirm this to be the case? Also, he has asked for an approximate current value as he intends to dispose of the item as it's outside his field of interest. I had taken a wild stab and suggested a value around that of the period U.S.M.C. M1951 vest rather than a standard later issue U.S. Army M1952A vest, does this seem fair? Thanks, Jon. patches Posted June 3, 2012 Share #2 Posted June 3, 2012 Your friends one is an unissued one, this type showed up before, did you see this older topic ? if so, I'll post for the benift of the other interested members, though the Olive drab link in the first reply appears to be unclickable. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...showtopic=42946
jon prince Posted June 4, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted June 4, 2012 Hiya, yes, thanks, that's the post I meant. As it was a couple of years old then I wanted to get my friend some more up to date information and opinions. I should know these things myself as I actually collect Korean war items, but this vest threw me, I even walked straight past it in his collection room without giving it a second glance :pinch: And as it seems to be one of the experimental vests then I wouldn't even know where to begin guessing at price for him.
