Just love those photos! Did you get the second photo showing Patterson sitting near the staircase?

V-Mail writes by Millard F. Patterson on February 17th, 1944 intended for his parents inhabitants in Missouri. The envelope was posted on February 29th, 1944.

Somebody could translate me this letter in French, please ?

 

Newspaper "The Daily Democrats-News" of September 25th, 1945 with his photo dating approximately 1941/42.

 

He was overseas 2 ½ years taking part in the D-Day Invasion, serving in Northern France (Brittany near Brest, etc,…), Central Europe and Rhineland.

Millard F. Patterson was wounded in the battle of St-Lo on June 27. 1944. He has received Purple Heart ? think.gif

 

After ETO he his transferred in 69th Infantry Division.

 

His received honorable discharge on September 21. 1945 with S/Sgt rank.

 

I look for any other informations on Millard F. Patterson. thumbsup.gif

After VE day, a large number of men from the 29th with high points were sent tot he 69th for the trip home.

 

I would translate it for you but French is terrible. If no one else can, I can put it in typed english and try and a translator.
