carl1944 Posted January 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2007 This ring went for 117 USD on Ebay back in September 2006. It was believed to be (as stated in the item discription) a US ring of WWII vintage. BUT it is actually a ring produced for members of the 106th Div Association as early as 1947. The cost for it then was 6 USD. If anyone has other rings like these ,handed out by Veteran's organisations , post 'em here. It could be helpfull as a kind of database... SARGE Posted January 10, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2007 Thanks for the information Carl. Are there any markings in the ring? Looks like sterling perhaps?
carl1944 Posted January 10, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted January 10, 2007 Thanks for the information Carl. Are there any markings in the ring? Looks like sterling perhaps? Hi SARGE, I believe it was marked sterling on the inside. I scanned the add from a Cub (the quarterly 106th magazine) dated April 1947 I believe the ring of the auction to be an even later model than the one depicted in the add. Steve B. Posted January 11, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 11, 2007 Here are three of mine. All are for the 3rd Armord Division. The one on the left was made for the Association of 3rd Armored Division Veterans (A3ADV) and is 10K gold. The one in the middle is sterling an of unknown vintage. The one on the right is specific to Military Intelligence (it has the MI emblem on one side) and I suspect it is from the 60s or 70s.
