shrapneldude Posted May 7, 2012 Share #1 Posted May 7, 2012 A new addition to my collection. I know next to nothing about wings, if any of the wing experts out there can help me, that would be greatly appreciated. There is no hallmark on these that I can see, the pin opens all the way, and they have feathers at the shoulders. If anyone can help me date these or tell if they're repro or not, please help! Thanks in advance for any comments on them. If they are real and WWII era, they will go on a WWII USMC Pilot's uniform in my collection.
pfrost Posted May 7, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 7, 2012 I think these are classic one of the classic WWII style wing patterns. Likely intended for daily wear and are not especially high quality or expensive. Patrick
Mark Posted May 8, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 8, 2012 Is it just me or do these wings look distorted? They don't appear to be symmetrically balanced.
carrabassett Posted May 8, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 8, 2012 I agree they are very asymmetric and not of the highest quality but looking at original pictures of Naval, USMC, and USCG wings, they are not unlike many pictured. I do not have any originals to compare with in my collection so I couldn't say with certainly their age or authenticity. Sorry.
