Ribbon Bar Identification

Gents,

This is an occupation period tailor made ribbon bar Please take a look at the ribbon on the lower right hand side of this rack. All these ribbons are made of corded thread (which makes identification difficult enough) and the ribbon in question appears to be salmon and white. It appears salmon/white/salmon/white/salmon in color with a salmon & white rosette.

Who knows what this is? French perhaps? Simply faded?

Gosh, 45 views and no one has an ID on this lower R/H ribbon?

Don't feel bad, I can't seem to identify it either.

I would think, especially with the rosette, that it HAS to be some foreign award. Luxembourg, Dutch, or Belgian maybe. Sorry I cannot positively identify it, but it sure looks like a European award to me.

Brian,

Thanks for the response. I am at a loss myself. It is an interesting rack since this fellow participated in a lot of campaigns. That one ribbon just eludes me.

Any other clues? A combat patch? Branch insignia?

While his ribbons indicate a fair amount of travel, they don't show a lot of action, so probably a staff officer. That could have a bearing on what it is.

Is the ribbon center stripe faded, or is that a true color?

JB,

Not much help I am afraid but he was a US Constabulary Captain of Infantry. A Staff Officer is a good guess but he could have come from anywhere I suppose. I have even seen Constabulary officers with CIB combat patches so about anything is possible. The ribbon does not appear faded as the reds in the other ribbons are still true. Salmon is the best description I could come up with as pink does not seem to be very warlike. The color is not yellow enough to be orange so I guess I will stick with salmon to describe it.

I am stumped...

Sarge,

I would like to take a crack at the ribbon. Taking into account, lighting, fading and age. :)

Spain-Order of Military Merit. I have a full pic if you think I am close.

Chris,

Thanks for your help. The ribbon looks close to the right colors but they are reversed. I think you are close but no cookie.

Still looking...
